WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10TH ANNOUNCEMENTS

STUDENTS – PICK UP YOUR REPORT CARD FROM YOUR 1ST PERIOD TEACHER ON THURSDAY 1/11/18

Yesterday at the sectional bowling singles Samantha Fitzgerald advanced to the regionals girls’ individual competition. Today the team competes at 4 pm at Blackiston Bowl in Clarksville.

Lunch time tutoring is now available daily in the MPR during your lunch period. Feel free to bring your lunch and class materials to get extra help. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Sowder or Ms. Eisner.

 

FCCM & Campus Life will hold a 5th quarter after the FC/Jeffersonville basketball game this Friday until 11pm at the Galena building.  Activities will include a 6 on 6 Dodgeball Tournament as well as other games, prizes, lots of food, and music.  All are invited and the cost is a suggested donation of $1! For more info see Mr. Romig in B-120.

 

Boys’ track and field meet TODAY after school at 2:50 in the MPR room for approximately 20 minutes. Conditioning starts next Tuesday.   

 

Students in grades 9-11 are invited to the Prosser open house January18th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. This is a great opportunity to meet the staff and explore 24 career pathways.

 

Baseball conditioning will resumes next Tuesday & Friday.

 

Students interested in joining the Science Academic Super Bowl team are to meet Thursday after school in D-105 with Mrs. Shepard.

 

Applications for next year’s Student Mentors are available in the box outside Mrs. Sowder’s office now through Jan. 26th for CURRENT 10th & 11thgraders who are outgoing and caring and want to have a leadership role. Student mentors are involved with Freshman Night Out and are paired with a freshman student to build rapport. Two elective credits can be earned as well as 96 hours of community service for the year.  Application deadline is Jan. 26th. Accepted applicants will be notified by Feb. 2nd.

 

Buy or sell your Prom Dress at North Harrison HS Saturday Jan. 20th 10am to 2pm.  Bring dresses to sell between 9-9:45am.  There is a $5 selling fee. If your dress sells you get 90% of sale price.  See the flyer in the guidance office for more details.

Just another reminder that CURRENT 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students need to get 2 Hep A vaccines as required by the time you are a senior. The 2 required doses of Hep A are to be given 6 months apart. Please do not wait until the last minute! Question? Come by the health office.

ONLINE Drivers Education sign up packets can be picked up in the Bookstore for anyone wanting to sign up.

Indiana AEOP offers a $1000 scholarship to a student interested in pursuing business.  Deadline is February 5.  

Unigo Scholarship:  Write an essay about I Have a Dream.  Deadline is January 31.  Applications are in counseling area and on google classroom.

Epsilon Sigma Alpha(ESA) offers several scholarship opportunities.  The application submission is done online.  Go to www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/scholarships-and-grants to apply.  To find scholarships, click on the current list of ESA scholarships available by state you reside.  Deadline to apply is February 1, 2018.

Nancy Jaynes Scholarship is awarded to a senior whose parent is battling breast cancer or who has lost a parent to breast cancer. Visitwww.breastcancerplate.org to apply.

Georgetown Lions Club offers a scholarship to seniors with strong volunteerism. Applications are on the Scholarship Board. Deadline is April 2.
