SCHOOL WILL BE IN SESSION MONDAY, JAN. 19TH MLK DAY!

If you didn’t receive your progress report yesterday check with your first period teacher or come to the attendance office.  Also remember you can view it on your INOW account.

Senior exec is cancelled for Thursday morning.                                                         Jr. Exec will meet Thursday after school.  

Auditions for this spring’s production of Mary Poppins will be the first week of December.  Anyone interested in auditioning should take a look at the “audition info” page on the Theatre department website, floydcentraltheatre.org.  Everyone who auditions must attend a workshop on November 19th or 24th at 3:00 to learn required choreography.  See Mr. Steiner if you would like more information.

 

Anyone interested in joining the history academic team see Mr. Robinson in B-136 anytime this week. This year’s topic is Ancient Romans.

Sign up today for Dance Marathon’s volleyball tournament this Saturday at 2pm. A team of 5 or 6 members can compete in one of the following categories: all guys, all girls or co-ed. We will also have staff and faculty teams. Get an entry form at the Dance Marathon table at lunch and turn in by Friday.  The concession stand will be open that day!

Ms. Wolfe will holding 3 after school review sessions for students taking the ECA algebra exam on Dec. 9th in A-218 until 3:30.  The dates are tomorrow, Nov. 20th, Dec. 2nd and 4th.

Bring in 2Cans this week – everyone please bring in 2 cans one day this week and remember there are drawings for prizes with each can brought in!

Don’t forget TOMORROW is the last day to bring in a new or gently used coat for the Miles for Merry Miracles coat drive.   Drop off your donation and enter your name in the drawing.  All items go to Angel Tree individuals.

 

Driver’s Education information is now available at the bookstore for the January class. The first 48 students qualifying will be taken. Dec. 19th is the deadline.

 

Students, please check the lost and found at the bookstore for items of clothing, books & shoes. Items like retainers, glasses, jewelry can be claimed in the office.

 

Sophomores tour Prosser Monday & Tuesday, Nov. 24th and 25th by alpha.   Dates and bus assignments are posted on the Main Office window.  Sophomores please determine the day & bus you are assigned.  You will report to 5th period and be dismissed by the PA.   We leave at noon and return at 2:15pm.

 

Foot Locker offers 20 $20,000 scholarships to student athletes.  You must be nominated to apply.  Deadline is December 11.

 

Worried about how you’re going to pay for college? Feeling lost in the process? Attend the FREE Million Dollar Scholar Workshop at New Albany’s HS’s library Tuesday, Feb. 3rd from 6-8:30. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP/COLLEGE INFORMATION.

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Indiana offers scholarships for high school seniors with cerebral palsy.  For information, email donnar@ucpaindy.org.

Elks National Foundation awards $2.4 million to 500 students’ nationwide based on leadership, scholarship & financial need.  Deadline Dec. 5th:  Go to elks.org/enf/scholars

Athnet Sports Recruiting offers a $1000 scholarship to student athletes entering college.  A 400-500 word essay is required.  Go to www.athleticscholarships.net for more information.  Deadline is June 1, 2015.

 

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship program offers approximately 20 $10,000 renewable scholarships to students who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship.  To apply, go to www.reaganfoudnation.org.  Deadline is January 8.

 

University of Dayton offers the Leadership in Service Scholarship.  Student must be nominated by a counselor to be considered for the scholarship.  Deadline is December 15.

 

Networks Financial Institute of Indiana State University offers a full tuition scholarship for students with a 3.5 GPA, 1070 SAT or 23 ACT and rank in the top 15% of the graduating class.  For more information, go to www.indstate.edu/apply.  Deadline is December 1. Wednesday, November 19, 2014
