Happening this week :

·         Tuesday morning at 7, FCA will be starting the day with a time of worship music led by Brandon Drake from Southeast Church. Donuts and milk will be supplied. Join us!

·         If you are looking for a holiday related community service project then plan to attend the Interact Club Meeting tomorrow after school in the MPR. 

Captain Catherine Fitzgerald will be speaking about the Salvation Army’s mission, in particular their Red Kettle Bell Ringers and the Angel Tree Adoption Campaigns. This is an open meeting so you don’t have to be an Interact Club member to attend.  Captain Fitzgerald will be at FC at the Interact Club meeting tomorrow to explain how you can volunteer to be a bell ringer or shop for an Angel Tree Child.

 

·         Join FC’s Acts of Gratitude and Encouragement Society (AGES). This is a community service group that has plans to help the community & FC Students.  First meeting will be Monday, Nov 25th after school in B120.

·         The new Asian Pop Culture Club will be holding its 1st meeting this Monday in D109 until 4pm. 

·         If you are interested in joining the FC Fishing team please plan to attend the informational meeting on November 25th @ 7:30 in the Driver’s Ed Room. ***More info attached

·         FCHS Annual Art show is December 6th from 2:45-7:30 pm.  **see attached flyer

  • Winter Fantasia tickets are on sale now!

Performances will be held December 10, 12, and 14 @ 7 pm and December 14 @ 2:00pm

Tickets are available for purchase at the Floyd central box office. The Box office will be open Monday – Wednesday- and Friday from 9 am – 3 pm while tickets last. Cash and checks only.

·        To All Students:  Counselors will be available to meet with students in early December to discuss schedule changes for 2nd semester.  If you want to make a change, please wait until this time to contact your counselor. 

·         It’s hard to believe but finals week is only 5 weeks away! That means it’s time to put in your order for the popular Finals Fuel Goodie Packages.  This fundraiser for the FC Theatre department provides drinks and snacks to help “fuel” any FC student through finals. Students love to receive the snacks and the personal notes of encouragement from you before finals week. The goodie packages are available for a limited time and cost only $10. See form for deadlines and more detailed information.

·         Interested in teaching? The Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship provides up to $7,500 per year of college (up to $30,000 total) for top-performing Hoosier students who commit to teaching in Indiana for five years after earning their degrees. Deadline to apply is November 30.

·         Student drivers: Please make sure the number on your parking tag is visible from the outside of your car.

·         Anyone interested in Drivers Education can pick up a registration packet in the bookstore.

·         Gongaware Scholarship at Indiana State University is a scholarship for students pursuing insurance and financial services industries. This is a full in state tuition award. Must have two of the three requirements: 3.5 or higher GPA, ranked in top 15%, 1140 SAT or 23 ACT. You must be accepted to ISU by December 1. If you are interested, see a counselor to be nominated by November 20th.

·         You can also take advantage of other scholarship opportunities through Community Foundation.  Go to cfsouthernindiana.com and click on the scholarship tab.

·         Indiana State University offers a variety of scholarships.

Networks Scholarship or Gongaware Scholarship is for students studying for a career in business and financial services.Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA, 1140 SAT or 23 ACT, Rank in top 15% of the class.  To be eligible, you must be admitted to ISU by December 1 and all required materials are due by December 15.  Go to www.indstate.edu/apply for more information.

·         Knights of Pythias offers a $1000 award for students pursuing college.  You must have a 3.0 gpa or higher and already have been accepted to a university.  Essay required.  Info is on the scholarship board in the counseling office.  Deadline is January 25.

·         Interested in STEM and Business?  Texas A & M offers merit-based full-ride scholarships in areas of STEM, followed by a one year degree in Business.  Deadline to apply is December 1.  For more information, go to www.brockmanfoundation.org.
