About Floyd Central

Floyd Central High School is a part of the New Albany-Floyd County School Corporation which serves nearly 11,000 students in Floyd County, Indiana. The Floyd County school district comprises the twelfth largest school district in the state. After 1967, the school grew rapidly. Currently, the school is an eight acre complex that includes a planetarium, tennis court, both an indoor and outdoor track, weight room facility, and outdoor cafeteria. In the last decade, Floyd Central has been repeatedly recognized as an outstanding high school at the state and national level. For the years 1994- 1996 Floyd Central was one of twelve schools in Indiana to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education. In the spring of 2002, Floyd Central was again recognized as a National School of Excellence, one of just seven Indiana schools to be named a Blue Ribbon School. Floyd Central has been named an Indiana Four Star School fourteen times.

Fight Song

On Floyd Central, race to the goal
On Floyd Central, show your control
On Floyd Central, bring us success
On big green and gold machine
We all know what victory means,
