Attention Senior National Honor Society Members: We need guides to assist parents at Open House next Thursday night. If you would like community service hours, sign up on the sheet posted outside A218, Mrs. Bryan’s door. First come, first serve, as only 25 guides are needed! See Mrs. Bryan for details or ask your NHS officers.
Providence shirts are in and can be picked up in the spine. If you forgot to order one, there are extras for sale, first come, first served.
Student Council committee forms need to be handed in to Mrs. Stansbury TODAY. Pay for your t-shirt today or bring your money to the meeting next Tuesday.
CORRECTION: Picture retake day is Wednesday, Sept. 5thfor new students and those who did not get them taken during registration, or have a problem with the pictures you received today.
The Bagpiper is accepting submissions for their Student Spotlight pages. This section is for students outside the news magazine to share their writings, art, photos, videos and talents. Email your submission to fcstudentspotlight@gmail.com. , or drop it off in the green & gold box in the lunch room or B-107 during lunch. Include your name, grade and email address on all submissions.
Any student wanting to join Student Renaissance this year see Mrs. Hanen in A-110 or Miss Thrasher in C-114. Applications are due TODAY. The first meeting is Sept. 6th Period 1.
TODAY is the deadline to pick up last year’s yearbook if you ordered one from B-105. All unclaimed books will be resold. You can purchase last year’s yearbook for $60. Please bring the exact amount in cash or check to B-107. There are a limited number of books.
Seniors– plan now for to have your personality photos next to your senior portrait. Come to B-105 during lunch with something or dressed something that describes your personality. If you can’t bring something to school make an appointment with Lauren McNeeley. Deadline is Sept. 30th.

SCHOLARSHIPS - COLLEGE INFORMATION
Don’t forget to sign up to see the representative from Washington University in St. Louis next Thursday, Aug. 30th at 12:30 in the Student Conference Room in the Guidance office. You must sign up to attend.
Gilda’s Club of Louisville offers support for children whose lives are touched by cancer. An essay contest with the theme: “It’s always something. This time it’s cancer.” offers a $500 award for students who are cancer survivors or who have a family member or friend who has/had cancer. This contest is open to students in grades 6-12. The Wendy’s High School Heisman 2012 application is now available online. All senior student athletes with a B average are encouraged to apply!! The first 25,000 students who apply are guaranteed a Wendy’s gift card. Go to www.wendysheisman.comto apply. Deadline is October 2.
Students interested in attending Washington University in St. Louis, see a counselor to be nominated for the William H. and Elizabeth Gray Danforth Scholars Program for students who have exhibited service and leadership, as well as academic excellence. Deadline for nomination is October 15.
Seniors...The Kevin Hammersmith Memorial Scholarship application is now available in Student Services. This was formerly known as the Harvest Homecoming “Who Wants to be a College Student?” scholarship. The competition takes place at New Albany High School on October 1st at 7 pm. Deadline to apply is Sept. 28th.
Wabash College offers the Top Ten Scholarship Program for males in the top 10% of their class. The scholarship is valued at $70,000 over four years. Students must complete Early Decision application by November 15 or Early Action application by December 1 in order to be eligible.
