PSAT Tools
The link below will take you to a pod cast describing all of the tools students may use with their 2012 PSAT score report along with a full explanation of how to interpret their individual scores. We would like to encourage you to put this pod cast on your home web page and/or send in an email to families in your community. You may choose to have groups of students view the pod cast as you distribute PSAT score reports, or simply direct families to these sites through monthly newsletters.
The tools of the PSAT include Study Skills – which will help students tailor a SAT/ACT study plan to their own skills needs; a personality indicator; College Matches based on students expressed interests; and more!

In addition to this pod cast, the College Board has developed a web-based video of similar PSAT features. We would encourage the use of both tools as your 10th and 11th grade test-takers review their scores to determine how to best prepare for high stakes exams and post-secondary enrollment.

Tools such as these will help all Indiana students’ progress toward success in AP, IB and Dual Credit courses. Additionally, these will assist students with test prep and help to further establish a college-going culture in all communities.
Also, Floyd Central offers afterschool preparation courses for both the PSAT and SAT tests. For more information on these programs, information can be obtained at the student bookstore.
