*After prom registration is done by the After Prom Committee. There will be tables during lunch in the

spine starting this week. Registration is $15 for all attendees. A student does not have to go to Prom to

attend After Prom! Junior and seniors only.

Seniors, Josten’s will be here Friday for those who still owe a balance. Bring CASH OR

MONEY ORDER – NO CHECKS.

Tuesday night is the Orchestra Spring Concert at 7pm. Admission is FREE and will also be

senior recognition night.

If you are looking for community service hours and like working outside, see Mr. Brogan in

A-108 to do some work for Mt. Saint Francis this Saturday spreading mulch from 8-12 noon.

National Art Honor Society members will meet Tuesday after school.

Tonight the softball and baseball teams will have a PINK out. The girls take on Jeff and the

boys go up against Jennings Country.

Today STEM will be viewing a multiple drone demonstration by the staff from Asylum Xtreme

hobby shop. Everyone is invited to D-101 after school.

This Friday is the Renaissance Cook Out with the cafeteria grilling out. Students can go

outside for fun and games on inflatables, prizes, and give-a-ways. Current juniors have a

chance to win VIP parking for next year. Over$200 dollars in gift cards are up for

grabs. Lunch will be 40 minutes. Teachers are encouraged to join in the fun also!

The girls’ track and field team competed at Marian University this weekend. The 4x800m relay

team of Lillian Pearce, Morgan Paul, Erica Batliner, and Faith Barba won for a new school

record. In 3rd place were Corinne Cox in the 400m hurdles setting a school record, Claire

Lowney in the pole vault setting the second highest in school history, Kyley Sorg in the 3200m

and Spencer Freiberger in the high jump. Erica Batliner was 5th in the 1600m running a

personal best and Morgan Paul in the 3200m. Faith Barba was 6th in the 800m. Chloe Loftus

was 7th in the 3200m and Corinne Cox 8th in the 100m hurdles. The girl throwers competed at

Evansville Harrison with Skye McGillivray 7th in discus. The girl’s next meet is Tuesday

against Corydon, Lanesville, and Crawford County at home.

A representative from Eastern Kentucky University will be at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisvlile on Tuesday,

LifeSpring Foundation of Indiana offers a scholarship to a student planning to study in the mental health or

public service field. An essay is required. Deadline is April 20.

The Grace Group Scholarship is a $1000 award given to students with a 2.5 GPA or higher. Write a letter to

someone at Floyd Central that has had the greatest impact on you and you could win! See the scholarship board

for details. Deadline is May 1st.

STEM Club tutoring is every Wednesday after school in the media center (for Biology, Chemistry, Algebra I & II,

Geometry and Spanish.)

After school Extended Day is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays B-101 2:30 to 4:30pm with teachers.

Mondays: Math & English; Tuesdays: Math & Science & Thursdays: Math, Science & English.

NEW: SCHOLARASHIPS – check the scholarship board for all current scholarships offered.

The FC Alumni Association scholarship is for one male and one female who have relatives that graduated from

Floyd Central. Student must have a 3.5 GPA or higher and have community service. Application is on the

scholarship board. Deadline to turn in application to Mrs. Simler is April 28.

“Student Award Search Aid” website are offering a scholarship for 2017. Visit the website at

helping students locate and apply for scholarships. We are trying to improve the students’ chances for success.
